These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Nidex website, Nidex Desktop application, Nidex WebGuard browser extension, related subscriptions, enterprise-managed services, support, updates, and associated features collectively referred to as the “Service.”

Nidex is a secure-browsing product developed and operated by Logstr.io (“Logstr.io,” “Nidex,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Please read these Terms carefully. They contain important provisions regarding cybersecurity risks, subscription billing, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, purchasing, or using the Service, you agree to:

  • These Terms;

  • The Nidex Privacy Policy;

  • Any plan, order form, enterprise agreement, acceptable-use policy, product notice, or additional terms presented when you activate a feature;

  • Any rules imposed by an application store, browser-extension marketplace, payment provider, or organization through which you receive the Service.

If you do not agree, do not access or use the Service.

If you use Nidex on behalf of a company, school, government agency, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. In that case, “you” includes both you and the organization.

If a signed enterprise agreement or order form conflicts with these Terms, the signed agreement controls for the conflicting subject matter.

We may provide localized or translated versions of these Terms. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, the English version controls if a translation differs.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority where you live to enter into these Terms independently.

If you are between 13 and 17, or below the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

The Service is not intended for children under 13.

You may not use the Service if:

  • You are legally prohibited from receiving the Service;

  • Your use would violate applicable sanctions, export-control laws, or other legal restrictions;

  • We previously terminated or suspended your access for serious misuse, unless we have authorized your return in writing.

For organization-managed accounts, your organization may impose additional eligibility, authorization, and device-management requirements.

3. Account Registration

Some Nidex features may require an account, subscription, installation identity, workspace, or enterprise enrollment.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information;

  • Maintain and promptly update that information;

  • Protect passwords, recovery information, installation tokens, certificates, and other credentials;

  • Use reasonable security measures for devices running Nidex;

  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access, credential compromise, or misuse;

  • Accept responsibility for activity conducted through your account, except to the extent caused by our breach of these Terms or applicable law.

You may not share an individual account except where a plan expressly permits it. Enterprise administrators may create or assign accounts according to the applicable organization agreement.

We may require identity, payment, organization, or account verification before providing certain capabilities or processing sensitive requests.

You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address and authentication methods associated with your account. We are not responsible for account loss caused by inaccurate registration information or your failure to maintain recovery methods.

4. Use of the Service
Limited license

Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, Logstr.io grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use Nidex for personal or authorized internal organizational purposes.

Nidex is licensed, not sold. You receive no ownership interest in the Service or its underlying software.

Security purpose and operation

Nidex is designed to reduce exposure by opening selected web content inside isolated Linux virtual machines rather than the everyday host environment. WebGuard evaluates links, warns about suspicious destinations, and can route a selected destination into Nidex Desktop.

You understand that:

  • Isolation reduces risk but cannot eliminate every security threat;

  • Risk scores and security warnings can produce false positives and false negatives;

  • A site not blocked by WebGuard is not guaranteed to be legitimate or safe;

  • Choosing Continue anyway or otherwise bypassing protection may expose the regular browser or device;

  • Persistent profiles may retain cookies, extensions, malware, and other session state;

  • Enabling clipboard, file transfer, media, password, passkey, printing, extension, or other bridges releases information or capabilities into the isolated environment;

  • Bridged networking may expose the virtual machine to the local network;

  • Third-party extensions inside a Nidex session may access data available within that session;

  • Full session tracing may record credentials, tokens, form entries, headers, response bodies, and other sensitive information;

  • Nidex does not replace endpoint protection, identity security, network monitoring, backups, access controls, or safe browsing practices.

Acceptable use

You may use Nidex for legitimate personal browsing, authorized security research, threat analysis, testing, education, enterprise protection, and other lawful purposes.

You must not use the Service to:

  • Violate any law, regulation, court order, or contractual obligation;

  • Access, probe, scan, test, monitor, or interfere with systems you do not own or have permission to assess;

  • Develop, distribute, host, deliver, or facilitate malware, ransomware, spyware, credential-stealing software, botnets, or destructive code;

  • Conduct phishing, fraud, impersonation, account takeover, credential theft, or social engineering;

  • Evade sanctions, access controls, security protections, rate limits, or lawful monitoring;

  • Attack, disrupt, overload, or degrade networks, applications, infrastructure, or other users;

  • Collect, intercept, trace, or disclose another person’s data without legal authority;

  • Upload session traces containing personal, regulated, or confidential information without appropriate rights, notice, and authorization;

  • Use automation interfaces to execute unauthorized scripts, create unauthorized sessions, or expose control interfaces to untrusted networks;

  • Use Nidex as an anonymization guarantee or to conceal unlawful conduct;

  • Reverse engineer, bypass license controls, defeat technical restrictions, or derive source code except where applicable law expressly permits;

  • Copy, resell, sublicense, rent, lease, distribute, or commercially exploit the Service except under an authorized agreement;

  • Misrepresent your relationship with Nidex or Logstr.io;

  • Use the Service to infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;

  • Help another person engage in prohibited conduct.

Authorized security research must remain within the scope of permission granted by the owner of the tested system.

Your configuration responsibilities

You are responsible for understanding and managing your settings, including:

  • Disposable or persistent storage;

  • Direct, NAT, bridged, or VPN networking;

  • Private-network isolation;

  • File, clipboard, credential, passkey, printing, and media bridges;

  • Browser extensions;

  • Trace level and trace export;

  • Trusted, blocked, forced-intercept, and bypass lists;

  • Automation and remote-control interfaces.

You are responsible for obtaining all required permissions before recording network activity, form values, response bodies, employee browsing, or other information.

Enterprise-managed use

If an organization manages your Nidex profile:

  • Its administrators may configure features, restrictions, monitoring, tracing, VPN routing, retention, and access;

  • Managed settings may be mandatory and unavailable for local modification;

  • The organization may suspend or remove your access;

  • Organization policies and agreements may apply in addition to these Terms;

  • Questions about employer or organization monitoring should be directed to that organization.

Updates and changes to the Service

We may provide security patches, feature updates, new virtual-machine images, extension rulesets, compatibility updates, and other changes.

Some updates may be installed automatically where permitted. You agree to use reasonably current versions when older versions present material security, compatibility, or support risks.

We may add, modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue features. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice before materially discontinuing a paid core feature.

5. Payment and Subscription
Certain plans or capabilities may require payment.

Prices, billing intervals, included features, usage limits, taxes, renewal terms, and available payment methods will be shown before purchase. You authorize us and our payment provider to charge the payment method you select.

Recurring subscriptions

If you purchase a recurring subscription:

  • The subscription will automatically renew at the stated billing interval until cancelled;

  • We will clearly disclose the recurring nature of the subscription before charging you;

  • You authorize recurring charges at the price disclosed during enrollment;

  • You may cancel using the account-management method or other cancellation process we provide;

  • Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not ordinarily result in a prorated refund for the current period;

  • Access to paid features generally continues through the end of the paid billing period.

Trials and promotional pricing

If we offer a free trial or promotional rate, the offer will state:

  • Its duration;

  • Features included;

  • Whether payment information is required;

  • Whether it converts automatically to a paid subscription;

  • The amount and timing of the first charge;

  • How to cancel before being charged.

Fees and taxes

Fees are stated in the displayed currency and exclude taxes unless otherwise indicated. You are responsible for applicable sales, use, value-added, withholding, and similar taxes, except taxes based on Logstr.io’s income.

Price changes

We may change prices or plan structures. Changes to an existing recurring subscription will take effect no earlier than the next renewal after reasonable advance notice, unless the change results from taxes, law, or an agreed plan modification.

If you do not accept a price change, you may cancel before renewal.

Refunds

Payments are non-refundable except:

  • When expressly stated in the applicable offer;

  • When required by law;

  • When we approve a refund in our discretion;

  • When a separate written agreement provides otherwise.

Nothing in this section limits non-waivable consumer cancellation or refund rights.

Payment failures
If payment fails, we may retry the payment method, request updated billing information, limit paid features, or suspend the subscription after providing appropriate notice.

Purchases made through Apple, Google, Chrome, or another marketplace may be subject to that provider’s billing, cancellation, and refund rules.

6. Content and Intellectual Property
Logstr.io property

The Service, including its software, virtual-machine images, user interfaces, documentation, graphics, designs, logos, trademarks, text, and other materials, is owned by Logstr.io or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws.

“Nidex,” the Nidex logo, “Logstr.io,” and associated marks may not be used without written permission, except for accurate references to the product.

No rights are granted except those expressly stated in these Terms.

Third-party and open-source components

Nidex may include or interact with third-party and open-source software, filtering lists, browser components, VPN services, security-intelligence sources, operating-system components, and extensions. Those components may be governed by separate licenses and terms.

Applicable open-source licenses control where they conflict with these Terms regarding the relevant component.

Your content and data

You retain ownership of files, traces, rules, reports, messages, feedback materials, and other content you submit or generate through the Service.

You grant Logstr.io a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, reproduce, and use that content only as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide and secure the Service;

  • Process a request you initiate;

  • Deliver support;

  • Satisfy an enterprise configuration;

  • Comply with law;

  • Enforce these Terms.

This license ends when the information is deleted from our systems, except for lawful backups, security records, de-identified information, or legally required retention.

You represent that you have the rights and authority necessary to submit, upload, trace, analyze, or transmit the content.

Feedback

If you voluntarily provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about Nidex, you grant Logstr.io a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation. This does not transfer ownership of your unrelated content or personal information.

7. Termination

You may stop using Nidex at any time. You may cancel a paid subscription according to Section 5.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if:

  • You materially violate these Terms;

  • Your use presents a security, legal, operational, or reputational risk;

  • Payment remains overdue;

  • We are required to do so by law or a service provider;

  • Your account is used for fraud, abuse, malware, or unauthorized security activity;

  • Continuing the Service is no longer reasonably practicable.

Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue. We may act immediately when needed to address unlawful conduct, active security threats, harm to others, or repeated violations.

An organization administrator may suspend or remove organization-managed access under its own policies.

Upon termination:

  • Your license to use the Service ends;

  • You must stop using paid or restricted features;

  • Amounts already owed remain payable;

  • Locally stored profiles, session disks, traces, or extension data may remain until you remove them;

  • Remotely stored information will be handled according to the Privacy Policy and applicable retention requirements.

Sections concerning intellectual property, fees owed, disclaimers, liability, governing law, and provisions intended to survive will continue after termination.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”

Logstr.io disclaims all express, implied, and statutory warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, and accuracy.

We do not warrant that:

  • Nidex will identify, block, isolate, or contain every malicious destination;

  • Risk scores, reputation results, phishing analysis, or filtering rules will always be correct;

  • A virtual machine cannot be compromised or escaped;

  • A disposable session will prevent all information disclosure;

  • A persistent session will remain free from compromise;

  • Network isolation, VPN routing, scanning, tracing, or third-party integrations will always operate as expected;

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every system, or free from vulnerabilities;

  • Use of Nidex will satisfy every legal, regulatory, insurance, or compliance requirement;

  • Nidex will make browsing anonymous or prevent websites from collecting information;

  • Information, reports, alerts, logs, or analysis will be complete or suitable as forensic evidence.

Nidex is not professional legal, compliance, insurance, or incident-response advice. You remain responsible for evaluating risks and selecting appropriate security controls.

The Service is not designed for emergency, medical, aviation, nuclear, life-support, weapons, or other safety-critical environments where failure could lead to death, personal injury, or severe physical or environmental harm.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions apply only to the extent legally permitted. Nothing in these Terms eliminates non-waivable consumer guarantees.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Logstr.io and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages;

  • Loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, or anticipated savings;

  • Loss, corruption, disclosure, or recovery costs associated with data;

  • Malware infection, credential compromise, account takeover, or security incidents;

  • Service interruption, inability to access the Service, or device incompatibility;

  • Conduct or content of third parties or visited websites;

  • Decisions based on risk scores, alerts, traces, reports, or analysis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of:

  1. The amount you paid Logstr.io for the Service during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or

  2. US $100.

The limitations apply regardless of the legal theory and even if a remedy fails its essential purpose or we were advised that damages were possible.

These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, which may include liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or violation of non-waivable consumer rights.

Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Logstr.io harmless from third-party claims, damages, penalties, and reasonable costs arising from:
  • Your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Service;

  • Your violation of these Terms;

  • Your violation of another person’s rights;

  • Content or trace data you submit without appropriate authority;

  • Security testing performed without authorization.

This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from Logstr.io’s own violation of law, negligence, or willful misconduct.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect:

  • Product or feature changes;

  • New security or enterprise capabilities;

  • Changes to payment plans;

  • Changes in law or regulatory requirements;

  • Security, abuse-prevention, or operational needs.

We will update the Last Updated date when these Terms change.

If a change materially affects your rights or paid Service, we will provide reasonable advance notice through the website, application, extension, account email, or another appropriate method.

Changes will not apply retroactively unless required by law or expressly agreed.

Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and cancel any subscription before the revised Terms take effect.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Insert State], United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Subject to any non-waivable consumer right, the state and federal courts located in [Insert County and State] will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

If you are a consumer, this section does not deprive you of protections or dispute-resolution rights that cannot be waived under the laws of your place of residence.

The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

You must comply with applicable United States and international export-control, sanctions, import, and technology-transfer laws. You may not export, re-export, transfer, or provide the Service to a prohibited destination, person, organization, or end use.
